Susan Lee Pryor

Susan Lee Pryor of Fairgrove, age 72, passed to God's loving hands on Friday, July 31, 2020. Susan was born September 22, 1947 in Bay City, the daughter of the late Joseph Junior & Dorothy May (Lee) Adams. She grew up on the family farm in Fairgrove and attended country school there, later graduating from Akron-Fairgrove High School with the class of 1966. Following graduation, she worked at Roll Products in Caro before her marriage to George C. Pryor on January 6, 1968 at the Fairgrove United Methodist Church. Shortly after, Susan and George attended bible college in Pennsylvania and New York before returning to this area to raise their family. In 1977, Susan took a teller position at State Savings Bank in Caro and soon transferred to the bank's Fairgrove branch where she was promoted to the manager position in 1997, retiring in 2008. Susan was actively involved in local churches her entire life and spent over thirty-five years as a member of the Kingston Wesleyan Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and costume designer for the Christmas pageants. She was also active as a 4-H club leader for twenty years and served as treasurer for the Tuscola County 4-H Council. Susan was active in the Watrousville-Caro Area Historical Society and enjoyed sewing, crafting, quilting club, and gardening. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and will be remembered as a natural adventurer that truly enjoyed people. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, George Pryor of Fairgrove; two children and their spouses, Rev. George Michael & Linda Pryor of Bethany, Missouri, Amy & Curtis Jones of Wixom; four grandchildren, Gwendolyn Pryor, Makenzie, Andrew, and Makayla Jones; three siblings and their spouses, Jo Ann & Robert Gray of Watrousville, Carol & Cal Wright of Caro, Joseph Adams of Caro; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by three infant children, David, Renee, and Andrea; and one sister, Diane Adams. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Almer Township Cemetery in Caro with Rev. George Michael Pryor and Rev. Dr. William Sanders officiating. The family will gather with friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Tuscola County 4-H Program.
