Sybil Georgia Jubar, 96 years old, of Unionville, went to be with the Lord and her loving husband on Thursday, December 18, 2014. She was born June 10, 1918 in Unionville, Michigan to the late Fred Gotham, and Amy (Parsell) Gotham. She was the second oldest of four daughters born to that marriage. Her sisters, who preceded her in death, were, Illa Sherman, Hilda Sigmund, and Coral Gotham. Sybil married Orin (Bud) Jubar on November 25, 1936 in Owendale, Michigan. Bud and Sybil had three children, John, Ila(Jeannie), and Ken.
Sybil loved to crochet and for many years she made many wonderful gifts
for friends and relatives. Her crocheting knowledge was self-taught and one of her first items was a pineapple pattern table cloth. All of her family have many of her wonderful creations. She was a humble, quiet woman who lived a peaceful and happy life. She doted on her family, all of her family, especially the young ones. She was also known as Ma to all of her children's friends. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, and her son John.
Surviving her are John's wife, Tammy Jubar, her daughter Ila Jean (Jubar)Severn, and husband Herbert, her son Ken and wife Barbara(Czernik). She also leaves to cherish her memory eight grandchildren, Pam Orlik (Severn), Cindy Donahue (Severn), Scot Severn, Keith Jubar, Bruce Jubar, Brandon Jubar, Jason Jubar, Aaron Jubar. She is survived by twenty great grandchildren, and ten great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she loved as if they were her own children.
Visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2014 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the funeral home at 11am.
Burial will take place at Hickory Island Cemetery in Akron Twp.
