Sylvia Margaret Tait

Sylvia Margaret Tait of Prudenville, formerly of Caro, age 99, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at her home. Sylvia was born July 19, 1922 in Kingsley, Montana, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Weipert) DuRussel. She was united in marriage with Wayne E. Tait on January 11, 1939 in Sandusky and he preceded her in death. While living in Caro, Sylvia had been employed at the Caro Center for fifteen years as an Attendant Nurse 04. She also managed the accounting for Tait & Son Construction. Along with her husband, Sylvia was an avid golfer and traveler. She was a loving wife and mother and lovingly cared for her children and grandchildren. Sylvia is survived by three children, Jean Frappier of Clio; Barbara (Dennis) Henry of Prudenville, Larry (Nancy) Tait of Hartwell, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; fifteen step-great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Isabel Grovom of Grand Blanc, Iris (Jack) Kappen of Cass City; and one brother, Vernon DuRussel of Caro. In addition to her parents and husband, Sylvia was preceded in death by one daughter, JoAnn Wortz in 2020; son, J.D. Paul Tait in 1988; granddaughter, Elizabeth Frei in 2005; and four siblings, Mary Ellen Hacker, Edward, Arthur and Loren DuRussel. A memorial service will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at the Indianfields Township Mausoleum in Caro.
