Teddy Hillebert, age 55, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Marlette United Hospice following a courageous battle with Leukemia. Teddy was born February 24, 1952 in Cumberland, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Joseph W. & Ruth E. (Foster) Hillebert. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1970, serving in Viet Nam and later serving in the Army Reserves in Flint for many years. He was united in marriage to the former Linda Lou Hall on July 17, 1976 in Burton and moved to Caro in 1978 from West Palm Beach, Florida. Teddy was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear for thirteen years, retiring in 1991 due a disability. While living in Caro, Teddy was an active member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church, helping to build the new church, serving as a Deacon, a Sunday school teacher and resident agent for the church. He also was a member of the Caro VFW Post #4164 and a member of its Honor Guard as the Bugler. Teddy was also a volunteer for the Salvation Army. Teddy is survived by his wife, Linda Lou Hillebert of Caro; his dear friend and dog, “Scooter”; twelve brothers and sisters, most of who live in Kansas; one brother-in-law of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
