Terry Humes

Terry Lee Humes, age 47 years, of Caro passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2006 at his residence following a lingering illness. He was born on February 19, 1959 in Caro. While attending Caro High School, Terry entered the U.S. Army and while serving he graduated high school in Alaska. On June 25, 1977 he married the former Valerie Kennedy at the Wahjamega Country Church in Caro. After being discharged from the service, he and his wife returned to Caro and he took a job with Caro Community Schools. Terry loved his grandchildren and outdoor activities, as well as playing cards and bowling. Until recently, he had been a member of the Caro Eagles Aerie #3587. He attended Mizpah Missionary Church in Cass City. In addition to his wife, Valerie, he is survived by one daughter and two sons, Joie Hurley of Caro, Justin and Tracy (Kuhl) of Vassar, and Jason of Caro; seven grandchildren, Cody, Daniel, Autumn, Shaylyn, Savanna, Teegan, and Tristan (Boon); his parents, Alberta Jones and Lloyd Humes; his siblings, Alan (Joan) Humes of Caro, Brian (Mary) Jones of Caro, Shane (Tracy) Jones of Caro and Rhonda (Chris) Seever of Wisconsin; his mother-in-law, Lillian Kennedy of Caro; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his step-father, Robert C. Jones; and a cousin, Robert Adams, Jr. Honoring Terrys wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday, August 27, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. with J.T. Mabe officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
