Terry J. Lafave

Terry J. LaFave, a lifelong resident of Caro, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. Terry was born May 9, 1958, in Saginaw, the son of the late Jack and Betty (Horne) LaFave. He graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1976 and began work with Midwest Rotary in Caro shortly after. He remained with the company for over twenty years as a printing press operator, retiring in the late 1990's. Terry enjoyed learning from his elders and acquired unique skills like clock and engine repair. He was mechanically inclined and naturally curious, always tinkering. Terry was happiest outdoors and mostly nocturnal. He was always up for a road trip, especially if one of his beloved dogs was at his side. Terry's demeanor was quiet, personality eccentric, and his heart was kind. He shared his time and talents generously with those lucky enough to know him. Terry is survived by his loving wife, Betty Ann LaFave of Caro; two children, Jennifer Huber and her husband, James, of Caro, Joshua LaFave of Caro; three grandchildren, Victoria, Vanessa, and Ethan; siblings and their spouses, Jan LaFave of Port Austin, Lanny & LaDonna LaFave of Caro, Judy & Brian Taylor of Texas, Nancy & Gary Benn of Caro; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his father- and mother-in-law, Alex & Alice Kastraba. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. A Rosary service will be held on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at a later date at Indianfields Township Cemetery on Walk Road in Caro.
