Terry Michael Turner

Terry Michael Turner of Caro, age 71, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at Heritage Hills Assisted Living. Terry was born January 4, 1955 in Caro, the son of the late Milo (Mike) and Doris (Nowland) Turner. Terry lived some of the best years of his life while residing at Heritage Hill.

The family would like to give special recognition and gratitude to the staff for their tender love and care.

As a child, Terry received a transistor handheld radio which sparked his interest in electronics and music. That spark continued to grow into listening to the Detroit Tigers, scanners, ham radios,and his deep love for music or anything connected to it. Known to his friends as a true music trivia king, it only took a few seconds of a song before he could proudly name the tune. Music brought him so much joy, and his enthusiasm was contagious to those around him.

Terry was one to always reach out to his family members, sometimes numerous times of day, just wondering what they were up to. He often had special delivery requests of pizza, BBQ potato chips and pop, which he would gladly share. He treasured his connection with all of them and their visits.

He was always active, eager to participate, and never wanted to miss an activity, outing, or gathering. Terry brought energy and excitement wherever he went. He also had an incredible sense of humor and a way of making people laugh every single day, often without even trying. His personality was unforgettable and his quick wit brightened the lives of so many.

Terry was also well known for his unmatched love of ketchup. No matter what the meal was, ketchup would always be involved, even in combinations most people would never think of trying. From pancakes to potato chips, Terry believed everything tasted better with ketchup. It became one of the many unique and lovable things that made him who he was.

Above all, Terry was kindhearted and always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved helping others however he could and was constantly offering to assist friends, staff, and anyone around him. His caring nature, joyful spirit, and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Left to cherish Terry’s memory are his cousins, Mary & Scott Raymer, Barb & Jim Miklovic, their families and Pam Yahn; and several stepbrothers. In addition to his parents, Terry is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mildred (Wieland) Nowland; uncles, Robert (Sally) Nowland and Maurice (Ruthann) Nowland. A graveside service will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to a local charity or organization that assists families.
