Thelma Campbell-Anderson, age 87, of Cass City, formerly of Haslett, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Northwood Meadows in Cass City. Thelma was born on July 28, 1921 in Lansing. She was a 1938 graduate of Grand Ledge High School where she worked as a secretary to the Superintendent after graduation. Thelma worked for the Director of Nursing at the Caro State Hospital for several years, retired, and then returned to work at the Tax Tribunal in Lansing, where she again retired. She had married Richard J. Campbell on May 2, 1942, and he preceded her in death in June 1975. She then married Lawrence W. Anderson on March 16, 2001, with him preceding her in April of 2006. Chris returned to Tuscola County in 2006. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for many years, and became the organist for that organization. She enjoyed her family, gardening, knitting, crocheting, dancing and playing her grand piano. She is survived by three children, Larry (Jane) Campbell of Three Rivers, Faye (Mel) Souders of Fennville and Christena (John) Besonen of Caro; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation nor services at the Collon Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Northwood Meadows in Cass City.
