Theo Bernice Frent, age 85, of Akron, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Bay Medical Care Facility in Essexville.

Theo was born December 11, 1934, in Farihaven Township, to John and Marion (Boergert) Kleinfeld. She graduated from Bay Port High School. She married Robert W. Frent on January 5, 1957, at the Methodist Church in Bay Port. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2019.

In Theo's early years she enjoyed playing on the Women's Bowling League in Akron, taking ceramic classes, baking, and being the playground supervisor at the Akron Elementary School. She worked many years for the Caro State Hospital as a nurse's aide until her retirement. Every fall she made pies for the Akron Methodist Church bake sales and helped with many soup suppers and fundraising meals. After retirement, she and Robert enjoyed camping, traveling, wintering in Florida and California, attending her grandchildren's cross country and track meets where they called her Grandma #2, and going to dance recitals.

Theo is survived by her children: Amy (Robert) Taylor of Sebewaing and Robert Frent of Encinitas, California; 2 sisters: Jean Myers and Joan Jahr, 5 grandchildren: Lucas Taylor, Joshua (Elizabeth) Taylor, Sarah (Kyle) Mowry, James (Katrina) Sheehan-Frent and Corey Sheehan-Frent; and 9 great grandchildren.

Theo is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 5 siblings: Charlotte Brenner, Eunice Jones, John Kleinfeld, Kathy Schultz and Margaret Yacks.

A joint memorial service will take place Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the American Legion Post #293. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Brad Haist will be officiating.

Burial will take place privately at New Bay Port Cemetery in Fairhaven Township.

Memorials for Theo may be given to the Sebewaing American Legion Post #293, the Akron Fire Dept. or Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).
