Theresa Quick

Theresa Loretta Quick, age 93, of Caro passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born on February 4, 1918 in Hamtramck, Michigan to the late Stanley and Anna (Buchovsky) Slimko. The former Theresa Slimko married Floy H. Quick on November 16, 1935 in Sandusky, Michigan. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1983. She had been employed as a Nurses Aide at Caro Community Hospital for many years until her retirement. Theresa was also a mother, wife and homemaker. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a member of the Sacred Heart Womens Council, and until her health prevented it, she worked as a volunteer with hospice. She was very much involved in her work and family activities and enjoyed reading, music, and for a couple of years, bowling. She is survived by her children, Allen (Arleta) Quick of Caro, Thomas (Betty) Quick of Linden, Mary (Dale) Hall of Caro; 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four daughters, Eileen Ives, Ruth Karakas, Susan Quick, and infant Jane; and seven brothers and sisters. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk officiating. Rite of Christian Burial will be at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Wilmot. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Tuscola County Medical Care Facility.
