Thomas E. Babcock, age 62, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw, following a brief illness. Tom was born July 30, 1946 in West Branch, the son of the late Samuel Babcock and Bertha (Osbourne) Babcock, graduating from Port Austin High School in 1964. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Army in Viet Nam for two years. Upon his return, Tom worked for Active Industries in Elkton for several years as an electrician, and for the last twenty years was employed at Delphi Saginaw Steering Systems in the same capacity. He came to the Caro area in 1990 from Port Austin and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro as well as the Knights of Columbus Council #3224. Toms greatest passions and joys came first from his family, playing golf and being a loyal Maize and Blue fan. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Alma Moreno-Babcock of Caro; one son and three daughters, Ryan Babcock of Port Austin, Amy Frank of Port Austin, Daniella and Mahriya Babcock, both at home; three grandchildren, Kyle Frank, Alexa Frank and Tanton Babcock; two sisters, four brothers and their spouses, Martha Babcock of Port Austin, Evelyn & Steve Petker of North Carolina, Matthew & Mary Babcock of Grindstone City, Gary & Lori Babcock, Samuel & JoAnn Babcock, Richard & Jane Babcock, all of Port Austin and many nieces and nephews.
