Thomas A. Baird

Thomas A. Baird of Caro, age 85, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw. Tom was born March 4, 1935 in Antigo, Wisconsin, the son of the late Dr. James and Dorothy (LaJest) Baird. He proudly served his country as a First Lieutenant with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Tom was united in marriage with the former Eileen Greenlee on March 31, 1956 in Sandusky, and she preceded him in death on January 19, 2009. Tom was a longtime businessman who avidly supported his community. He loved to travel and go south for the winter where he enjoyed sitting in the sun. He especially enjoyed time spent with family, reading the paper, and playing cards and games. Tom was a member of the Caro First Presbyterian Church. Tom is survived by his partner and longtime companion, Linda Campbell; one daughter, Allison Sawyer and her husband, Tim; one grandson, Scott Sawyer and his wife, Jessica; great-grandson, Parker; Linda's children, Pam & Clark Ewald, Jody Campbell, Marcy Barber, Kristin Ewald; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Tom was preceded in death by one son, Thomas A. Baird, Jr. In keeping with Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private burial will be held at a later date at Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Shriners.
