Thomas Edward Bays of Caro, age 70, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 11, 2020. Tom was born May 31, 1950 in Baughman, Kentucky and was raised by the late Earl and Alice F. Grubb in Piqua, Ohio. He was a lifelong songwriter and performer, and was employed in the Kentucky coal mines as a heavy equipment operator and explosives specialist. Following his move to Michigan, he opened an antique store in Atlanta known as Atlantiques. Tom enjoyed Indian mopeds and at one time owned forty. He also enjoyed wheeling and dealing motorcycles, mopeds and cars. Tom is survived by his soulmate of twenty-four years, Goldie Suranye Mooney; two daughters, Vanessa Deborah Grubb and Callie Leigh Grubb, both of Kentucky; Goldie's children that he helped raise as his own, William A. & Leula Jean Mooney of Caro, Monica Rosie & Mike Dennis of Caro, Amber Mooney; one granddaughter, Isabelle Min Dennis. In keeping with Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
