Thomas A. Kempisty, age 69, of Sebewaing, formerly of Pigeon, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011. Thomas was born March 24, 1942 in Detroit to the late Michael J. and Helen A. (Horzempa) Kempisty.
He worked at Sebewaing Industries, managed Bud's Bar in Elkton, and he enjoyed watching Nascar, Detroit Tigers, and playing euchre and poker. He was a member of the Caseville Eagles Club.
He is survived by his children; Thomas (Brenda) Kempisty, Jr., Timothy (Tammy) Kempisty, Debbie (Randy) Fritz, Patricia (Robert) Haldane and Donald (Keri) Kempisty. He is the proud grandfather of Matthew Fritz, Megan Fritz, Carley Haldane, Marissa Petiprin-Ball, Madelyn Haldane, Amber Haldane, Allison Haldane, Brooke Kempisty, Hailee Kempisty, Courtney Kempisty, Dustin Russell, and Zachery Russell. Thomas is the dearest brother of Michael Kempisty, Dorothy (Leonard) Wilczewski, Theresa Zurowick, Richard (Tina) Kempisty, Daniel (Laura) Kempisty, Kathy (John) Nitecki, Joseph Kempisty, and MaryAnn (Edmund) Chrzanowski. He was a special friend to Janet Schweitzer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Helen Kempisty, and his sister, Lorraine Clouse.
The funeral service will be at 11am, Monday, October 24, 2011 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon.
The visitation will be Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 1-9pm at Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home in Pigeon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
