Thomas "Tom" Ridley, Sr, of Vassar, age 66, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 at his home. He was born August 16, 1949 in Detroit, the son of the late Ralph and Ruthalee (Darling) Ridley. Tom was united in marriage with the former Bonnie Miller on March 23, 1974 in Clio, and she survives him. He was employed at Birch Machinery, and also worked at rehabbing houses, was a self-employed mechanic, and worked in building trades, retiring in 2012. He was a member of the Vassar Eagles, and enjoyed golf, fishing, was a newspaper freak, especially doing their crosswords, and loved playing pool at the Vassar Eagles where he was a member of the men's single and mixed doubles team. Tom is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Bonnie Ridley of Vassar; eight children and their spouses, Joelene Haake of Flint, Thomas Ridley, Jr. of Vassar, Ralph & Katie Vermillion of Vassar, Michael & Allison Vermillion of Millington, Joseph Vermillion of Vassar, Trudy & Justin Kopac of Millington, Jeanine White of Vassar, Julie Ridley of Vassar; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandsons; four siblings, Jerry Ridley of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Gloria Kirchener of Belvadere, Illinois, Sandy & Geno Stockero of Belvadere, Illinois, and Gail Jackson of Vassar. In keeping with Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Vassar Eagles, 651 State Road, Vassar, MI 48768.
