Thomas Nathan Sharp, age 89 years of Deckerville, formerly of Tuscola County died on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Autumnwood of Deckerville. He was born on July 2, 1921 in Flint to the late Daniel and Sarah (Livingston) Sharp. Mr. Sharp lived most of his life in Tuscola County. Throughout his working career, he was employed on farms, and a variety of shops, working on the line. Thomas Sharp married Alta Shimmons in Owosso on September 2, 1947. She preceded him in death. He spent much of his later life in assisted living, and was active in their structured activities. He is survived by his two children, Sharon Lopez of Caro and Marshall Sharp of Cass City; nine grandchildren, Sharon (Rob) DeJaynes of Decatur, IL, Delores (Rick) Elrod of Caro, Al (Theresa) Lopez of Vassar, Tom (Danielle) Lopez of Caro, George (Joy) Lopez of Lansing, Mark and Paul at home, Elaine (Steve II) Elwood of Caro, James Lopez and his significant other Nichol Stricker of Caro; ten great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rita Sharp of Mount Morris; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sons, Floyd, Glen, and Paul Sharp; a son-in-law, Al Lopez; and recently his brother, George Sharp. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul McNett, Caro Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be at Ellington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Thomas Sharp family discretionary fund, c/o Sharon Lopez, 302 S.
