Tom Walker, age 80, passed away suddenly Wednesday, August 9, 2006 in Saginaw. He was born May 18, 1926 in Caro, the son of the late Ward & Hazel Violet (Lawrence) Walker. Following graduation from Caro High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in Otttumwa, Iowa as a Seaman First Class. At the conclusion of the war he received the Victory Medal. After he was discharged, he attended Michigan State University for two years. During most of his adult life, Tom was an insurance agent and adjuster in the Saginaw and Caro areas. He was also a member of the Caro American Legion Post #7. Surviving are four daughters and their spouses; Debra (Rev. Dr. Kirk) Ryckman of Omaha, Nebraska, Pamela (Michael) Gibson of Bridgeport, Kim Putnam of Davison, Susan (Brad) Houlihan of Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Kathy (Forrest) Goyette of Davison, Jon Gibson of Saginaw, Kara (Lt JG Ryan) Chappell of Kailua, Hawaii, Lauren Ryckman of Omaha, NE, Brent Houlihan of Naples, FL, Andrew and Jenny Putman of Davidson; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Walker and his three brothers, Daryl, Richard and Robert Walker.
