Thomas Walter Zawerucha

Thomas Walter Zawerucha of Caro, age 82, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at his home with his loving family by his side. Tom was born November 16, 1939 in Detroit, the son of the late Mike and Stella (Pasek) Zawerucha. He graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1958 and went on to work at Eaton Foundry, now Grede Foundry. Tom held almost all the positions at one time at Grede, retiring from the Quality Control department on May 31, 1993. He married the former Donna Parsons in November 1962; sharing three children together and nearly nine years of marriage. Sadly, she passed in September 1971. Tom found love again when he met the former Lori Parker and were united in marriage on April 14, 1972. Their marriage was blessed with fifty wonderful years and countless memories. Tom was raised on a farm and always made sure to stay busy. He loved to be outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Above all else, he adored being with his family, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the lights of his life. Tom was known to be rough & tough but had the biggest heart you ever knew. He would help anyone and everyone any way he could and never wanted any recognition for it. Tom's selfless, humble, and kindhearted memory will live on in the hearts of his family for generations to come. Tom leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Lori; children, Ann (Jerry) Hepfer, Brenda (Randy) Dunham, and Tom (Michele) Zawerucha; grandchildren, Jeremy (Haley) Hepfer, Ashley (Aaron) Dunham Roznowski, Tim (Kristin) Hepfer, Tyler (Chay) Dunham, Leah (Ryan) Zawerucha, and Rachel Zawerucha; five great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings, Pat (Grant) Gettel, Tina Harbec, Marlene Merchant, and Tony Ventline; father-in-law, Bob Parker; sisters-in-law, Joanne (Jim) Willis, Tina (Gordon) Long, and Sheryl (Robert) Torres; brothers-in-law, Joe (Deb) Parker, Mike (Cindy) Parker, and Bobby (Bernie) Parker; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Mike & Stella Zawerucha; his first wife, and mother of his children, Donna; father-and mother-in-law, Howard & Alice Parsons; mother-in-law, Delores Parker; brothers-in-law, Bill Merchant, Tom Harbec, and Jim (Amy) Parker; nephew, Nick Gettel. In keeping with Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Reception is being planned for Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Brentwood in Caro. Family and friends are invited to come share their memories of Tom and enjoy a meal & fellowship. In keeping Tom's memory and willingness to help others, in lieu of memorial donations, Tom's family asks that you "Pay it Forward" and do an act of kindness in honor of Tom. Service Information A Celebration of Life Reception is being planned for Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Brentwood in Caro.
