Thomas P. Zuraw, age 60, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 19, 2009 following a period of declining health. Tom was born January 8, 1949 in Bay City, the son of Walter & Cecelia (Szymczak) Zuraw, and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Owendale Gagetown High School in 1967, and was employed with General Motors - Saginaw Steering Gear as a Department Coordinator, retiring after thirty-two years of service. Toms passion in life was baseball, and he was a dedicated volunteer for the Caro Baseball Federation for over thirty years, as a coach, Junior League Draft Coordinator and Director at Large. He was a co-owner of pizzerias in Akron and Bay City and enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to music and boating. Tom is survived by three children and their spouses, Michelle & Daniel Miners, Bradly & LaCrissa Zuraw and Chad Zuraw, all of Caro; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Shawn and Erica Miners, Robert Whisnant, Bradley and Devon Zuraw, Courtney Cooklin; his mother, Cecelia Zuraw of Bay City; five siblings and their spouses, Janet Bruessow of Caro, Patrick & Valerie Zuraw of Houston, Texas, David Zuraw of Canton, Mary & Lester Fritz of Cass City, James Zuraw of Caro; the mother of his children, Linda Parish and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Smith; his father, Walter Zuraw; grandparents, Paul & Mary Zuraw and Felix & Martha Szymczak.
