Timothy "Tim" Wilmer Deming, age 52 of Bay Port, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Covenant Harrison Hospital in Saginaw.
Born July 27, 1959 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon, he was the son of Frank H. and Wilma (Squires) Deming. He was a 1977 graduate of Laker High School, and attended Delta College.
Tim owned and operated T&D Sheet Metal business in Bay Port, where he made ventilation systems for General Motors and Ford facilities in addition to building custom trailers. Tim could design and build anything - "show him a picture, he could build it!"
Tim began his racing career at Thunder Road; after that he raced at Owendale Speedway. He drove coupe and street stock, and ended his racing career with Auto Value Super Sprints, traveling throughout the Midwest and Canada, where he was known as "Dr. Scary Fast." He loved to go fast whenever he could.
Tim enjoyed muskrat trapping, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed playing blackjack. He was a good brother and would help anyone anytime, including his racing competitors. He loved his sons and would spoil them whenever he had the chance.
He was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Bay Port.
Tim is survived by three sons, Travis (Tara) Deming of Sebewaing, Chris Deming (fiancée Victoria Osantoski) of Port Austin, and Billy Deming (fiancée Nicole Strauss) of Linwood; a grandson, Trevin; his girlfriend, Darlene Randall of Bay Port; his parents, Frank and Wilma Deming; brothers, Franklin Deming of Bay Port, Edwin & Stacy Deming of Bay Port, and Luke & Kellie Deming of Bad Axe; and nieces and nephews: Maggie, Anthony, Lily, Chyna, Bryan, and Jamie. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Deming and Terry Deming.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Community of Christ Church, Bay Port, with Elders Carol Brown and Kathy Swartzendruber, officiating. Burial will be in New Bay Port Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Bay Port Community of Christ Church or Woodlands Church Campgrounds.
