Timothy E. Good, 59 of Gagetown, passed away at home with his family at his side on Thursday, February 20, 2014 after a year-long struggle with cancer.
He was born in Cass City on April 7, 1954, the son of Edmund and Betty (Dafoe) Good. He was raised on the fourth-generation family farm and loved farming. He graduated from Owendale-Gagetown High School in 1972, and from Alma College in 1976. He was a graduate of Cooley Law School, specializing in Agricultural Law.
While in high school, Tim played several sports, especially loving football, and was the recipient of the Bay City Times Golden Helmet award. He also played football at Alma College, where he was elected, and served as president, of the student body during his senior year. He was also a member of the TKE fraternity.
Tim was a member of the Owendale Lions Club for 35 years, was president for several years, and Corn Roast chairman for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and served a partial term as Huron County Commissioner. He was an active supporter of community activities and projects, as well as offering legal services to the Township. He attended the Owendale United Methodist Church.
Tim is survived by his parents, Edmund and Betty Good of Gagetown; sisters, Nancy (Newt) Eade of West Bloomfield and Becky (Dennis) Weiss of South Lyon; special cousin, Jennifer Dafoe of Metamora; nephews, Andrew and Adam Weiss and Jason Wells; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Owendale United Methodist Church, with Rev. Cindy Parsons, pastor, and Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Weenink, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Bay City, officiating. Burial will be in Grant Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Owendale United Methodist Church or the Owendale Lions Club.
