Timothy Norman Hill

Timothy Norman Hill of Caro, age 70, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, April 16, 2023. He was born March 10, 1953, in Cass City, the son of George and Rosemary (Neff) Hill. Tim graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1972 and was an Eagle Scout. He was a counterman at Vandemark Auto and later retired from the Caro Auto Value Store as a parts salesman. For more than twenty years, Tim was a volunteer firefighter on both Mayville and Caro Fire Departments. He was a dedicated member of the Caro Knights of Columbus. As an Eagle Scout, one of his most precious memories was taking four Boy Scouts hiking in the mountains of Philmont Boy Scout Ranch in Arizona. He loved all things fast; cars, motorcycles, and go-karts. Tim could fix anything engine related and passed his love for engines to his son and his son's friends. Tim was always willing to help a friend, neighbor, or stranger in need. They all came to Tim with questions and advice. He will be sorely missed by his wife, Diana; son, Patrick Hill; daughter, Brittany Thompson; four grandchildren, Tessa and Blake Hill, Abygail and Adelynn Thompson; step-children, Gabriel Rowinski and Lydia Mageira; and the damn cat. Tim was preceded in death by his mother when he was five months old, and by his father, George Hill, in 1984. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday at 1:00 p.m. until the time of Tim's service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Boy Scouts of America, Caro Fire Department, or Mayville Fire Department.
