Timothy Vanhorn

Timothy Lee VanHorn, age 59, of Caro passed away on May 11, 2011 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw. He was born on December 14, 1951 in Caro to the late LaVerne VanHorn and Virginia (Weber) VanHorn Strand. Timothy has lived almost all of his life in Caro, and was a Caro High School graduate. During his working career, Tim was a bricklayer, working out of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local #1 in Detroit. In later years, Tim enjoyed being on the computer and watching movies. When he was a younger man, he enjoyed the out-of-doors. He is survived by three children, Mark (Heather) Bastedo of Panama City, Florida, Dena (Gabriel) Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Erin (Gerald) White of Caro; four grandchildren, Isabel Garcia, Gerald, Madolin and Karmin White; his siblings, Dennis (Donna) VanHorn of Caro and Diane (Ronald) Hunter of Caro; his best friend, Janet Densmore of Caro; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, William Strand. A memorial service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Chris Taylor officiating. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
