Tom Horn

Thomas “Tom” Dale Horn, 76, of Pigeon passed away in his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Tom was born on June 23, 1949, in Pigeon, Michigan, to the late Roy and Bette (Snay) Horn. He was a 1967 graduate of Laker High School. At age 17, Tom enlisted in the Marine Corp and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1969. Tom returned as one of the highest decorated servicemen from Huron County. He worked in masonry and construction for many different companies throughout his life. Tom was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend his time in nature. Growing up, he lived on the family farm but after chores were done he was often found at his favorite playgrounds: his uncle’s woods or the 14-foot ditch that ran through the farm. Tom also relished his time hunting and fishing. He had a quick sense of humor and loved to tease and joke with people.

Tom is survived by brother, William (Ginger) Horn of Las Vegas, NV; sister and caregiver, Gail Krenz of Pigeon; children, Eric (Kelly) Motz, Tamie (Matt) Gaeth, and Doni Behmlander; grandchildren, Armando, Tori, and Payton; and great grandchildren, Carson and Keira; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends who all adored their “Uncle Tom.”

Tom was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Don Krenz; nephew, Mike Apley; and his beloved dog, Rocky.

A funeral service for Tom will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Ransford Funeral Home – Pigeon, 7356 W. Michigan Ave, Pigeon, MI 48755, Pastor Karen Bouverette presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. There will be a private family committal at Caseville Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Thumb Animal Shelter or a charity of the donor’s choice.
