Tyler Joshua Dale Venema

Tyler Joshua Dale Venema of Cass City, age 28, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in Ann Arbor. Tyler was born August 3, 1988 in Bay City, the son of Calvin & Karen (Hutchinson) Venema, and graduated with the Class of 2007 from Cass City High School. He worked in logging in this area and as a production operator in Ann Arbor. Tyler's world revolved around his nieces and nephews, and he'll be remembered for his selfless spirit that led him to help the disadvantaged and homeless. An artist at heart, he loved to create music and entertain others with his talents. He enjoyed freestyling on his BMX bike, exercising, running, playing basketball and football. Tyler possessed a strong faith in the Lord and spent countless hours studying his bible. Left to cherish his memory are his father, Calvin Venema of Cass City; his mother, Karen Hutchinson of Cass City; siblings and their spouses, Marshall & Jacki Venema of Cass City, Clayton Venema of Kansas City, Missouri, Jordan & Sarah Venema of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Janelle & Gary Grates of Cass City; nieces and nephews, Madison, Aubree, Zane, Trenton, Logan and Cole; maternal grandfather, Adrian Hutchinson; aunts and uncles, Mark & Betsy Martin of Cass City, David & Cindy Martin of Cass City, Jeff Martin of Cass City, Peter Martin of Cass City, Al Venema of New York, Doreen & John Asher of Florida, Edwin Venema of Arizona and Frank Venema of Cass City. Tyler was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Elaine Martin; and paternal grandparents, Pete & Pearl Venema. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Colwood Church in Caro with Rev. Dr. Jason Garwood officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Hillside Cemetery, Elmwood Township, Cass City, Michigan.
