Vera Greenfield

Vera Belle Osborn Greenfield, age 95, of Unionville passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at her residence. She was born on April 29, 1914 in Caro to the late Ernest and Jenny Mae (Brown) Osborn. Vera was a lifelong resident of Tuscola County. On May 8, 1937, the former Vera Belle Osborn was united in marriage with Roland W. Greenfield at the parsonage of the Caro Church of the Nazarene. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2005. Vera was a homemaker and mother. For many years she enjoyed sewing, jig saw puzzles and word search. She is survived by her twin daughters, Donna (Alva) Hayes of Caro and Dorothy Goodson of Salem, AR; one son, Richard (Eleanor) Greenfield of Metamora; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her sister, Agnes Howell of Newberry; her sisters-in-law, Maxine Putnam of Mayville, Arlene Osborn of Caro and Helen Osborn of Columbiaville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Fred Goodson; eight brothers, Harold, Alfred, John, Ernest, Theodore, William, Eugene and Arthur; three sisters, Gladys Hall, Alice Osborn and Ruth Osborn and their spouses. The funeral will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul McNett, Caro Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia Township Cemetery #2, Columbia Corners. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorial may be made to charity of the donors choice.
