Vera Henry

Vera Henry, age 94, passed away peacefully at her home in Watrousville, surrounded by family on Sunday, January 27, 2008. Vera was born October 26, 1913 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Carl & Dot (Hile) McLaughlin, coming to Juniata Twp with her parents as a young girl. She was married to William E. Henry on June 27, 1934 in Reese. They owned and operated a farm since 1936. For a brief period of time in the 1960s, Vera was a Lunch Lady at McComb Elementary School in Caro, before working at Hillss Orchard for twenty years, retiring about 1985. Vera was an active and faithful member of the Watrousville United Methodist Church and its Womens Society. One of Veras hobbies that she greatly enjoyed was quilting. Veras husband of 56 years, William Henry, preceded her in death on August 6, 1990. Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Virginia (Henry) Wilcher of Caro; seven grandchildren & their spouses, Michael & Sherry Henry of Caro, Nancy & Gene Curtis of Oregon, Patrick & Debby Henry of Orlando, FL, Carla & Kenneth Bieber of Long Island, NY, Lauren & John Saxon of Birch Run, Lisa & Doug Werth of Lake Orion and Don Henry of Ohio; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ann McLaughlin of Caro; two brothers-in-law, Stanley & Gerry Henry and Hubert TerBush all of Watrousville and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Vera was preceded in death by their two sons, Carlaroy William Henry and Donald Lee Henry and his wife Peggy Henry; two brothers and two sisters, Elsie Biebel, Max McLaughlin, Lee McLaughlin, Joann TerBush; two sisters-in-law, Edna Goodchild and Ilene Ziegler. The family wishes to thank Tara Henry, Breana Henry and Peggy VanMetter whose loving care made it possible for their grandmother and friend to stay in her home and leave in peace.
