Verlyn Walker

Verlyn “Nanny” Walker, age 82 years, of Caro, passed away on Saturday, September 22,2007 at St. Marys of Michigan. She was born on April 9, 1925 to the late Freeland and Ermah (Colling) Sugden. The former Verlyn Sugden and Hugh F. Walker were united in marriage on June 21, 1946 in Mayville. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1975. She had been employed at Midwest Rotary Maniforms in Caro for over thirty years until her retirement in 1990. Nanny was a very loving and giving person who will be greatly missed by many. She is survived by one daughter, one son and their spouses, Jill (Jim) Wright of Caro and Robert (Dar) Walker of Kingston; four grandchildren, DeeDee (Darryl) Franzel of Emmett, Bobby (Susan) Wright of Vassar, Ryan (Rebecca) Walker of Cass City, Lane (Brooke) Walker of Kingston - “Nannys” grandchild, James Hugh Wright, preceded her in death in 1997. Her survivors also include nine great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Kristen, Danny, Shelby, Madison, Kali, Hugh, Abby and Gracy; as well as one sister, Fontaine Landis of Midland. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Butterfield officiating. Burial will be at Rich Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
