Verna V. Krohn

Verna V. Krohn, age 95, life time resident of Oliver and Chandler Townships, died Monday afternoon, October 13, at her home following an apparent heart attack.
She was born December 29, 1907, at the home of her parents, the late Ezra and Tillie (Wing) Kreh in Chandler Twp. On October 27, 1928, she was united in marriage to Clarence A. Krohn at the Evangelical parsonage in Pigeon. After they were married they lived on a farm in Oliver Twp. until 1946, when they moved across the road to the farm they had in Chandler Twp. Mr. Krohn preceded her in death January 9, 1976.
Mrs. Krohn was a farm wife all her married life, she helped on the farm as well as raising her three sons. She loved to cook and bake. She was still canning things from the garden, including a batch of sauerkraut she had brewing in the kitchen, ready for jars.
Surviving are two sons, Warren J. (Grace) Krohn and Earl J. Krohn both of Elkton; six grandchildren, John Krohn, Brad Krohn, Linda (Alan) Herman, Jan (Warren) Stoeckle, Kristie Krohn and Jill (Brian) Gordon; seven great-grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Jordan, McKenzie, Zachary, Laura and Jessica; two brothers, Harold Kreh of Portage and Robert (Joan) Kreh of Clio; and two sisters, Beatrice Nichols of Clio and Inez Vought of Naples FL.
Preceding her in death are one son, Gene I. Krohn; two sisters, Iva and Edna; and three brothers, Ervin, Oscar and Walter.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Rev. Reggie Courless, pastor of the Elkton Missionary Church will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Memorials may be given to the
Huron County Nature Center, Elkton Missionary Church or donor’s choice.
