Vernita Mae Loeffler , age 83, of Sebewaing, let go of human hands to grasp hold the hands of Jesus. Already there to welcome her home was her husband, Donald, of 67 years.
Vernita was born in Caro on July 14, 1939, to Melvin and Ernestine (Brock) Gibbs. She attended Unionville Schools as a child. She married Donald Loeffler on August 27, 1955 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Vernita enjoyed scrapbooking, shopping, baking, listening to music, polka dancing, and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very committed to taking care of her dear son, Gary.
Vernita is survived by her children: Gary Loeffler of Sebewaing, Bruce (Carol) Loeffler of Yale, Michele (Jerry) Harbuck of Sebewaing and Renee (Bill) Dickson of Frankenmuth; 11 grandchildren: Aaron (Charissa) Loeffler, Christopher (Justine) Loeffler, Brian (Kelsey) Loeffler, Hannah (Ryan) LaFave, Chelsie (fiancé Tim Jean) Loeffler, Brandon (fiancé Jacqueline Rousseau) Loeffler, Jordon Loeffler, Karie (Joshua) Wardynski, Amanda (Scott) Feehan, Elizabeth (Brandon Shrewsberry) Dickson and Billy Dickson; 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Joyce Smith and Donna Schuette.
Vernita is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Carol) Loeffler; and siblings: Bill Gibbs, Ron Gibbs, Tom Gibbs and Shirley Ann Gibbs.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.
The funeral service will be Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Burial will take place at the church cemetery at 1:30pm. Pastor Michael Boyer will be officiating.
Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Christ the King Lutheran School or Season's Change Hospice.
