Vernitta Robison

Vernitta G. Robison, age 89, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born on February 6, 1922 in Kingston to the late Leo and Mildred (Randall) Reamer. Vernitta Reamer married Eli G. Ashcroft on October 11, 1941, and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1956. Throughout her working life, she had been employed as a cook at Caro Community Schools. Vernitta Ashcroft married Ralph Robison on April 22, 1967 in Otter Lake. He preceded her in death on December 17, 2009. She enjoyed photography, gardening, her cat, gallivanting with her family, and yard work. She is survived by two sons, Gordon (Judy) Ashcroft of Vassar and Thomas Ashcroft of Caro; two daughters, Patty Robison of Otter Lake and Gale Robison of Lapeer; eight grandchildren, Debbie (Chris) Love of Davison, Rhonda (Brendan) Hope of Mason, Amy Dixon of Lapeer, Meliss (Scott) Wicker of Mason, Tania McGinzie of Flint, Tracy (Jack) Thompson of Sebewaing, Amanda ( Brian) Thompson of Caro, Edward Ashcroft of Caro; several great-grandchildren; her sister, Lelia Kitchen of Caro; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter and a great-grandson, Terry and Austin Ashcroft; and two brothers, Ivan and Melvin Reamer. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Damian Wrobel officiating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association of Michigan.
