Vernon Ray Beachy

Vernon R. Beachy, 95, of Pigeon, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.

Vern was born January 14, 1928 at home in Winsor Twp to the late Benjamin and Sadie (Ropp) Beachy.  He married Dorothy Kilbourn on November 28, 1953 and she preceded him in death on March 12, 2004.  He then married Marion McGee in 2005 and she preceded him in death in 2022.

Vern was an independent truck driver, retiring in 1990.  He was a member of Michigan Ave. Mennonite Church and Scenic Golf Course.  He enjoyed horseshoes, bowling, hunting, playing cards and following his beloved Detroit Tigers and Lions.

Vern is survived by his sons Benny (Laura) of Bay Port, Lenny (Linda) of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Kenny of Cass City; daughter-in-law Denise of Miami, Florida; son-in-law John Champagne of Elkton; grandchildren Benny, Alex (Brit), Jack, Mitch (Sarah), Jonathon (Chelsea), Christopher, Braden, Allison, Jake, Chris, Andrew, Kendra (Mike), and Savannah; great-grandchildren Ashlynn, Bauer, Sutter, Lainey, Blair and Evan; siblings Doris (Charles) Willingham, Judy (Ernie) Martin, Shari (Eldon) Kurtz, and Roy (Audrey) Beachy; sister-in-law Joanne and brother-in-law Earl Delp.  He was preceded in death by his son Bradley, daughters Jennifer and Jill Champagne, daughter-in-law Jill, sisters Margaret Paymer, Leona Huscher and Ruth Delp and brother Eldon.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, November 7th at the Michigan Ave. Mennonite Church with Rev. Scot Wilson officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be 4-8pm Monday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel.
