Vicki Andrews Riley

Vicki Andrews Riley of Caro, age 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at her daughter’s home, surrounded by all of her children. Vicki was born April 11, 1953 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Albert and Nancy (Hudock) Andrews. She graduated from Prince George High School with the class of 1971 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Central Virginia Community College, graduating in 1977. Vicki worked at the Caro Hospital as a Lab Supervisor for over thirty years, retiring in 2011. She was a proud member of AA for over four years and always enjoyed her trips to Florida with her fellow AA members. Vicki was part of the Exchange Club of Caro and played softball with her hospital friends. You could always count on her for a card game, whether it was Euchre, SkipBo, or Spades, Vicki was up for it. She had many friends on Words with Friends and liked playing Candy Crush. Vicki was well-known for her daily ritual of sending morning texts to more than fifty of her nearest and dearest, all while enjoying her cup of coffee, only if it was accompanied by French Vanilla creamer. She loved socializing and had a deep fondness for butterflies and lighthouses. Vicki enjoyed hitting the golf course, but her greatest joy came from being with her family, which she held above all else. She would surprise the grandkids with the biggest pile of Christmas presents every year, no matter how many times she would say she wouldn’t. Vicki loved to cook dinner for the family, especially during the holidays. Her sass and spunk could brighten any room, and her loving, generous, and kind spirit will be dearly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Vicki’s legacy lives on in the memories of countless game nights filled with laughter and love.

Vicki leaves to cherish her memory her children, Michelle & Edward Ganley, Jaclyn & Jared Bush, Jay Riley, and Jillian Riley; grandchildren, Livia Ganley, Brinley Bush, Saylor Bush, Remington Bush, Callie Bush, Titan Torres, and Colter Torres; nephew, Jason & Nichol Andrews; niece, Jamie & David Wayne Crawford; sister-in-law, Deborah (Aubrey) Townsend; two great-nieces and three great-nephews; special cousin, Cecelia & Tilton Alexander; and her significant other, Tim Miller. In addition to her parents, Vicki was preceded in death by her brother, Albert “Andy” Andrews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Colwood Church in Caro with Rev. Kelly Ball officiating. Vicki’s family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro and again on Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her service. After the service there will be a luncheon following at the church at Noon O’Clock.
