Victor Alan Roemer

Victor Alan Roemer, age 83, of Sebewaing, passed away December 26, 2024, at the Tuscola Medical Care Center in Caro.

Victor was born in Detroit on August 9, 1941, to Herman and Edna E. (Woldt) Roemer. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Sebewaing until 8th grade then graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1959. He married Rita Matthews. She preceded him in death in 1971. On June 24, 1972, Victor married Shirley Anne Crabtree at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing.

Victor retired from Gettel, Inc. – John Deere in Sebewaing. He also co-farmed Edna Roemer Farm, with his brother, LeRoy for many years. He enjoyed being an usher at Church for many years. He collected toy tractors and farm equipment, Nascar Items, watching Detroit Lions, liked woodworking and taking crop tours around the thumb.

Victor is survived by his wife, Shirley; children: Judith (Dan) Ferries of Pittsford, NY, Donald Roemer of Virginia Beach, VA, and Larry (fiancé Lisa) Roemer of Bay City; grandchildren: Megan and Kristen Ferries, Spencer, Levi, Carson and Madison Roemer, Austin and Zoe Roemer, and Dakota, Gavin and Gracelyn Schumann; siblings: Loretta Verreault of Pheonix, AZ, LeRoy Roemer of Sebewaing and Gwen Baur of Sebewaing; sister-in-law, Rora Rice; nieces, nephews, and many other family members; special friends, Leonard, Lyn and Landon Ferris.

Victor is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Rita; sister, Margo Bonini; and niece, Katie Bonini.

Visitation will be Friday, January 3, 2025 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.

The funeral service will be Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Pastor Charles Kuhl will be officiating. Burial service will be private at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sebewaing.

Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church (memo: general fund or towards music).
