Victor Milton Wissner , age 96, of Sebewaing, went to his heavenly home with his family and Pastor Garrison at his side on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Scheurer Long Term Care in Pigeon. He was born on March 10, 1926, to Rudolph and Frieda (Neu) Wissner on the family farm in Brookfield Township.
He married Christina Leiterman on June 5, 1948. Together they enjoyed nearly 63 years of married life before she passed away in April, 2010.
Victor was baptized, confirmed and married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. He was a faithful lifelong member holding several church offices. He was also a Brookfield Township Trustee for 30 years and a Farm Bureau officer.
He co-owned Sebewaing Concrete Products with his brother, Harold, and then with his sons until his retirement.
Victor enjoyed playing fast pitch softball in his younger years. For many years he sponsored and cheered for the Tuckey Concrete women's softball team. He was an avid wood worker, enjoyed reading "good Christian books" (as he would say), watching Tigers baseball, flower gardening, doing jigsaw puzzles, going to Cardiac Rehab and spending time with his family, especially at the cabin he built.
Victor was preceded in death by his wife, Christina and infant children, Thomas and Cindy; 4 brothers: Roland, Harold, Raymond and Arnold Wissner; 4 sisters: Ruth Dronsella, Irene Leiterman, Gertrude Wissner and Luella Wissner.
Surviving are Victor's children: Linda Gillentine (Jim Bratton), Terry (Peg) Wissner and Scott (Jennifer) Wissner; grandchildren: Yvette (Jordan) Scharf, Zoann (Philip) Hallam, Maddy (Lawrence) Royster and Alex Payton; beloved great grandchildren: Heidi, Hazel and Hutch Scharf; sister-in-law, Esther Wissner; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Scheurer Long Term Care for the loving care they provided; also, the nurses and his friends at Cardiac Rehab who made Victor's life so enjoyable.
Visitation will be 3-8pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing and 10am until the time of service on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kilmanagh, with Rev. Thom Garrison officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in Sebewaing.
Memorial donations may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
