Victoria Ann "Vicky" Hernandez

Victoria Ann "Vicky" Hernandez of Caro, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at United Hospice Residence in Marlette following a courageous battle with cancer. Vicky was born January 17, 1961 in Ford Hood, Texas, the daughter of Mary (Ott) Counseler and the late Gary Counseler and was a graduate of Caro High School Class of 1979. She was united in marriage with Tom Hernandez on April 12, 1980 in Caro. Vicky was employed as the shipping manager with SRS Pharmacy Systems, worked as a para-pro at McComb School for many years, and various other retail businesses around Caro. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro and the L.W.M.L., taught Sunday school, was a youth group leader and participated in Servant events. Vicky loved spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoyed football, vacations, Disney, fishing, camping and cooking. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of thirty-nine years, Thomas Hernandez; two children and their spouses, Jody & Aaron Barrigar of Cass City, Travis & Kayla Hernandez of Caro; grandchildren, Dylan, Bryce and Isla; and her mother, Mary Counseler of New Braunfels, Texas. In addition to her father, Vicky was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Counseler. In keeping with Victoria's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating.
