Victoria M. Mascorro age 87, of Pigeon pass away Sunday evening, July 12, at her home with her family gathered at her bedside.
She was born June 15, 1928 to the late Santos and Carmen (Cuellar) Martinez in Castroville, Texas. She and her family came to Huron County as migrant workers, when she was 11 years old.
Victoria was united in marriage to Camilo Mascorro September 5, 1942 in Elkton and raised 17 children together.
She was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking, baking and canning for her family. Victoria loved working with her beautiful gardens, flowers and vegetables.
Surviving are her husband of 73 years, Camilo; children, Albert Mascorro of Castroville, TX, Carmen (Doug) Parrish of Dallas, TX, Eligio “Lee” (Luci) Mascorro of Bad Axe, Gene (Rose) Mascorro of Bad Axe, Amelia (Michael) Matthews of Unionville, Hector Mascorro of Castroville, TX, Mary Mascorro of Bad Axe, Melinda Ibrahim of Dallas, TX, George (Tina) Mascorro of Castroville, TX, Gina (Oscar) Rosado of St. Louis, MO, Charlie Mascorro of Castroville, TX, Melissa (Christian) Kish of Elkton, Vicky Mascorro of Burton and Angie Mascorro of Pigeon; 140 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Gonzalez of Bad Axe and Lupita Hernandez of San Antonio, TX.
Preceding her in death were three sons, Junior, Ferman and Elias Mascorro; a grandson, Santos; great grandson, Isaac and her brother, Santos Martinez.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 15, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon. Rev. Fr. Robert Pare’, pastor will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 9 PM Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton and at the church after 10:00 AM Wednesday.
A rosary service will begin at 7:00 PM Tuesday; memorial gifts maybe direct to the family
