Vincent C. Freeman

Vincent Freeman age 85, of Pigeon died Monday morning, September 27, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe.
He was born September 13, 1919, in Saginaw to the late Roy and Helen (Hoppe) Freeman and was a 1937 graduate of the Pigeon High School.
On February 4, 1945, he was united in marriage to Grace Rounds in Pigeon, where they made their home and raised their family. Vincent retired from Pigeon Manufacturing in 1984 with over 25 years of service.
He enjoyed playing checkers and gardening, giving most of the stuff he grew to his kids, family and friends. He was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 8042 Caseville-Pigeon and the Pigeon Historical Society.
Surviving are his wife, Grace, six children, Linda (Mel) Manyan of Bay City, Dwight Freeman and his special friend, Jackie of Wallace, Doug (Jana) Freeman of Pigeon, Peggy (Mike) Heintz of Pigeon, Daniel Freeman of Lansing and Susann Rowe and her special friend, David of Pigeon; nine grandchildren, Patrick, Brian, Brett, Ben, Kevin, Eric, Kathleen, Bucky and Andrew; a foster grandson, Ethin; seven great grandchildren, Katlin, Alexander, Lauren, Taylor, Christopher, Breanna and Brady; his brother, Thomas (Rusty) Freeman of Hale and his sister, MaryLou Loeffer of FL. Preceding him in death was a grandson, Christopher Heintz and a brother, Neil Freeman.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 29 at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Fr. Kenneth Yaroch, pastor of St. Roch Catholic Church will officiate with burial in Grandlawn Cemetery, Pigeon. Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM on Tuesday and after 10 AM Wednesday. Memorial may be given to Meals on Wheels or Scheurer Hospital.
