Vincent Sattelberg

Vincent Sattelberg of Unionville, age 90, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro. Vincent was born May 9, 1929 in Gagetown, the son of the late Benjamin and Lydia (Ewald) Sattelberg. He was united in marriage with the former Joanne Park on December 22, 1951, and she preceded him in death on June 28, 2000. He married the former Betty (Copron) Mikkelson on October 6, 2001 and she survives. Vincent loved the land and farmed his entire life. He was an active lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church (Columbia Corners) where he was very involved and taught Sunday school. He enjoyed working with stained glass, cars, very particular about his lawn and landscaping, and also enjoyed winters in Arizona. Vincent is survived by his wife, Betty Sattelberg of Unionville; three children and their spouses, Margie & Greg Talaski of Filion, Jim & DeAnn Sattelberg of Caro, Richard & Joan Sattelberg of Unionville; Betty's three children and spouses, Harley & Merry Mikkelson of Caro, Bonnie Mikkelson of Saginaw, Linda & Tom Culbert of Caro; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bernice Hass of Kinde; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and first wife, Vincent was preceded in death by three siblings, Edna Prime, Beatrice Schulz and Raymond Sattelberg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at St. Peter Lutheran Church (Columbia Corners) with Rev. Paulette Cummings officiating. Military honors will follow the service under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the Caro American Legion Post #7. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Peter Lutheran Church (Columbia Corners).
