Vincent V. Smith

Vincent V. Smith, age 86 of Caseville, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.
He was born in Pigeon on January 7, 1928 to Denson and Viola (Schultz) Smith, and graduated in 1946 from Pigeon High School. On January 17, 1948 he was united in marriage to Joyce Genevieve Henne at the Hayes Methodist Church. They had been married 65 years when she passed away on February 12, 2013.
Vincent farmed in Chandler Township near Caseville all his life and was passionate about farming. He enjoyed traveling and bowling, and was an excellent bowler. He was a member of the Hayes United Methodist Church and a Trustee for many years. He was a Director of the Pigeon Cooperative Elevator for 12 years, past Director of the Huron County Bean Growers, past F.H.A. committee member, and was on the Chandler Board of Review.
Vincent is survived by his children, Cindy (Mike) Wagner of Northville, Patsy (Mike) Walsh of Caseville, and Denny (Leanne) Smith of Caseville; grandchildren: Lisa (Denis) Somar, Brian (Neisha) Wagner, Jami Walsh, Scott (Katie) Walsh, Aaron (Kim) Smith, and Michelle (Ben) Walsh; great-grandchildren: Andrew and Matthew Wagner, Elodie and Celine Somar, Emalee Bach, Alex Schweinsberg, Brady and Landon Walsh, Mason Smith, and Cole Walsh; brother, Richard Smith; and sisters, Wilma D'Anna and Kay Adams. He was preceded in death by his infant baby girl; infant twin sons, Dennis and Duane; grandson, Daniel Smith; and siblings, Terry Smith, Diane Honaker, and Sharon Hartz.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Hayes United Methodist Church with Pastor Brian Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Caseville Township Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to Hayes United Methodist Church or Scheurer Hospital
