Viola Begeman

Viola L. Begeman was born Viola Bruno on September 20, 1928 in Taylor, Michigan. She passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Caro Community Hospital, age 78 years. She came to Caro as a young girl and graduated from Caro High School. The former Viola Chambers married Gerald Begeman on May 18, 1959. She was employed for 28 years as an attendant nurse at the Caro Regional Center. Viola enjoyed fishing, golfing and traveling with her husband. In addition to family activities, she enjoyed knitting and sewing. She was a member of the Women of the Moose. She is survived by her husband, Gerald; three children, Darrell (Valerie) Chambers of North Branch, Janis (Mike) Cook of Vassar and Donald (Diane) Begeman of Caro; seven grandchildren, Jamie (Heather) Chambers of North Branch, Joe Chambers of Kingston, Troy Chambers of Caro, Gary (Tammy) Begeman of Lapeer, Jason (Brenda) Begeman of Saginaw, Kevin (Cynthia) Begeman of Caro, Tammy Begeman of Caro; eight great grandchildren; her siblings, Tom (Susan) Irvine of Prescott, Robert (Bonnie) Irvine of Caro, Paul (Kathy) Irvine of Caro, Russell (Pat) Irvine of Texas; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Irvine, and an infant brother. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday, February 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Smith of the Caro United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to charity of the donors choice.
