Violet Emily Grassel of Caro, age 84, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Satchell's Christian Retirement Home in Caro. Violet was born January 8, 1932 in Fairhaven Township of Huron County to the late Arthur and Donna (Graves) Kuhl and was a 1950 graduate of Sebewaing High School. The former Violet Kuhl was united in marriage with Frank Grassel on June 10, 1967 in Westland, and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1989. She was a homemaker throughout her married life and was also a volunteer driver for the Department of Human Services. Violet enjoyed crocheting, canning, teaching Sunday school, watching television and had a special love for Elvis Presley who came to her belated birthday party a week ago. She also attended the Gagetown Church of the Nazarene. Violet is survived by six children and their spouses, Donna Wright of Caro, Brian Rogers of Sebewaing, Dwayne & Gloria Rogers of Black Canyon City, Arizona, Darryl & Diane Rogers of Cave City, Arkansas, Mike Grassel of Saint Louis, Genna Grassel & John Garcia of Sebewaing; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren with two more on the way; two sisters, Faye & Jim Callaway of Sebewaing and Jan Rocha of Sebewaing; several nieces and nephews and her special friend, Lloyd Good of Sebewaing. In addition to her parents and husband, Violet was preceded in death by her brothers, George, Russ, Ken, and Cecil Kuhl. In accordance with Violet's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in the spring.
