Violet Ann Musselman, 90, of Sebewaing, Michigan passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024. Born in Saginaw on February 11, 1934 to Edward and Lula Kemp, she lived most of her life in Sebewaing. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Musselman, and her parents.
A believer in Jesus Christ, she volunteered frequently at her church and at Bay Shore Camp. Her faith sustained her through trials and joys.
Violet was an extremely bright child, beginning school at age 4 and being promoted soon to 2nd Grade. She attended the small Louisville School and later Unionville High School, graduating with the class of 1950. She was united in marriage to Philip Musselman in 1953. Their marriage was an example of love and utter devotion. Violet worked many jobs over her lifetime, retiring from Michigan Sugar Company. She was a gifted cook and baker, and enjoyed gardening and learning. In their later years, she and Phil enjoyed their cabin in Northern Michigan.
Violet was very proud of her three daughters, Brenda (Doug) Fassett, Angela Musselman and Sheila (Steve) King. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ben (Stevie) King, Betsy (Daniel) King-McDonald, Lynnea (Hernan) Santoyo, Kathryn (Tedd) Sheets, and Paul Fassett. Violet's great-grandchildren include Leo Dupont, Felix Dupont, Anna Sheets, and Ivy Sheets. She will be remembered by dozens of family as "Aunt Bum."
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2pm-8pm.
The funeral service will be Friday, September 20, 2024 at Son's Life Missionary Church. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sebewaing. A luncheon will follow the cemetery service.
