Virginia E. Dennis

Virginia E. Dennis of Caro, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at AGAPE Care Systems in Caro. Virginia was born February 1, 1929 in Painesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late James and Isabelle (Clapp) Greenleaf. She was a 1947 graduate of Cass City High School and was employed for many years in housekeeping at the Caro Regional Center. Virginia was a member of the Wahjamega Country Church where she served as organist, assistant treasurer, bookkeeper, and aided in janitorial duties. She loved anything that challenged her mind, including reading, jigsaw puzzles and the hardest crossword puzzles she could find. Virginia also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing, and made hundreds of quilts for Positive Alternatives and mittens for the Girl Scout Mitten Tree. Virginia was united in marriage with Jack C Dennis from 1950 to 1979 and the couple were blessed with three children and their spouses, Vivian & Robert Herr of Russellville, Kentucky, Ellen & Steve French of Murrieta, California, Patrick & Sun Hwa Dennis of Caro; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Greenleaf; and one sister, Charlotte Watson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Rick Harrell officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at a later date at Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro.
