Virginia D. Baker, 95, of Caseville passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at home under hospice care.
Virginia was born May 18, 1926 in Port Huron to the late Milton and Leona Beauchamp. She graduated from Caro High School. She moved to Caseville in 1950 and raised her family there. She and her first husband Stanley LeBlanc owned and operated LeBlanc’s General Store, and later her second husband Bob Baker helped run the store until her retirement. She was an active member of St. John Episcopal Church, Sand Point. Virginia composed music and lyrics, and in the last years of her life she wrote a children’s book with her daughter Dana called Crazy Little Shadow. A creative and talented mother, she invented the four-way reversible pattern with her love of sewing.
Virginia is survived by her daughters Gina (Daniel) Prickel of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jana (Douglas) Freeman of Bay Port and Dana Corvino of Pensacola, Florida; grandchildren Benjamin, Anthony, Danielle, Carrie, Libby, Kevin, Robert and Nichole; great-grandchildren Adriel, Colette, Elora, Austin, Madelyn, Benson, Arlo, Baker, Daniel, and Beau. She was preceded in death by her first husband Stanley LeBlanc and second husband Robert Baker and sister Janice Woods.
Private services will be held. Interment will be in Caseville Twp Cemetery. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
