Virginia F. Kapcia, age 78, of Caseville, died Monday, September 14, 2009 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe after a short illness.
Virginia was born October 24, 1930 in Wyatt, West Virginia to the late Salvatore and Christina Marie (Marra) Audia. In 1944 her family moved to Detroit where she graduated from Eastern High School in 1948. On January 26, 1952 she married Raymond S. Kapcia in Detroit.
In 1981 they moved to Caseville. She was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church, the St. Roch Women’s Society, the Caseville American Legion Auxiliary, the Caseville Eagles FOE Auxiliary, Pigeon VFW Auxiliary, the Red Hats, Caseville Retirement Club and Caseville Library Club. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, and visiting with friends and family.
Surviving are her husband Ray; children Barbara of Bad Axe, Mark (Kathleen) of St. Clair Shores and Matthew of Warren; grandchildren Kari and Christopher; and sisters Christine Hungate of Berkley and Antoinette (Ben) Garnetti of Riverview.
A funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 17th at St. Roch Catholic Church with Fr. John Wies presiding.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and one hour prior to the mass at church. There will be an Eagles Auxiliary Ritual at 7PM Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the St. Roch Building Fund.
