Virginia Mae “Jenny” Rose, age 63, of Caseville Township, died Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor after a short illness.
Jenny was born February 11, 1943 in Kodak, Kentucky to the late Kennard and Sarah (Whitaker) Massey. In 1965 she moved to Michigan to find work. She married Robert Jack Rose on February 9, 1979 in Ypsilanti.
Jenny retired from General Motors in 1991 and in the same year moved permanently to Caseville. She enjoyed volunteering with Heartland Hospice, playing BINGO, going to Las Vegas, and being a gracious and articulate homemaker.
Surviving Jenny is her husband Robert J.; children Diane (Terry) McLaughlin of Belleville, Anita (Lewis) Coleman of Tennessee, Cindy (Craig) Perry of Tennessee, Jennifer Dee (David) Crawford of Maybe, Bobby and Jimmy both of Ypsilanti and Michele (Larry) Schultz of Milan; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; and brothers and sisters Allen (Dorothy) Massey of Texas, Patia (Racine) Ratliff of Kentucky, Bera Childers of Texas, Terry (Connie) Massey of Texas and Tommy (Jo) Massey of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her sister Lola Faye Damron and brothers Benny and Kenny Massey.
A celebration of Jenny’s life will be at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, January 16th, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville, with Ruthmary King leading the service.
Visitation will be 2-8 PM Monday at the funeral home in Caseville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heartland Hospice.
