Vivian D. Sefton

Vivian D. Sefton of Decker, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro with her family at her side. Vivian was born May 16, 1932 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Howard and Erma (Bissett) Martin. She was united in marriage with John "Leroy" Sefton on September 16, 1950 in Marlette. Leroy preceded her in death on November 26, 1997. Vivian enjoyed assisting with pie making at the Shabbona United Methodist Church, oil painting, quilting, playing Euchre and years ago, enjoyed doing ceramics. She also worked for a brief time as a clerk at the IGA in Cass City. Vivian is survived by three children and their spouses, Roy Sefton of Frankenmuth, Paul Sefton of Decker, Dyan & Alan Feller of Corydon, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Donna Sefton of Carsonville; grandchildren, Joshua & Francine Sefton, Jennifer & Jason Daenzer, Courtney & Jeremy Robinson, Jonathan Feller, Olivia Feller; great-grandchildren, Leila, Harrison, Fox and Levi; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Lorraine Martin of Cass City, Helen Sefton of Kingston, Lois Sugden of Cass City, Hugh & Margaret Sefton of Snover, Catherine & Ron Hogue of Fostoria; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Vivian was preceded in death by one son, Gary Sefton in 2010; three brothers, one sister and their spouses, Don & Janet Martin, Cecil & Carolin Martin, Sheldon Martin, Betty & Harry Smith; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Joe Sefton, Richard Sugden, Ron & Marion Hendrie and Juanita Sefton. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will follow at a later time at the Elkland Township Cemetery in Cass City. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Shabbona United Methodist Church.
