Wager F Clunis

Wager Frederick Clunis Jr., 81, recently passed away at Currituck House Assisted Living in Moyock, North Carolina.

One of five children, Wager was born December 23, 1932 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to the late Wager and Alice (Seddon) Clunis.

In 1951, Wager graduated from Elkton High School. He married Barbara Jean LeLacheur November 7, 1953. Wager farmed in Elkton, Michigan until 1960 when he moved his family to California. After retiring from Lockheed Aircraft, Wager spent most of his retirement years in Lakeside, Oregon where he enjoyed boating at his lake house. Never afraid of a challenge, Wager built his own boat, repaired trucks and cars, and was known to redesign equipment he chose to improve. During the years he lived in California, Wager loved desert camping with his family.

Wager is survived by four children, Robert (Jane) Clunis, Joseph (Moea) Clunis, Dennis (Sue) Clunis all of Simi, California, and Deborah (Jake) Jones of Gatesville, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, Robert Jr. (Chastity) Clunis, Rebecca (Scotty) Brown, Lisa Antonelli Clunis, Joseph (Carrie) Clunis, Patrick (Charlotte) Clunis, Brett Clunis, Timothy (Stephanie) Dunn, Elizabeth Clunis Salmon, Sean (Leslie) Perry, Jeannie Smith, and Dean (Jacqualyn) Perry; 15 great-grandchildren; Matthew, Grace, Beckham, Jayden, Allison, Ben, Madalyn, Bryce, Kylee, Jacob, Charles, Willow, Shane, Tanner, Kyliegh; a brother, Douglas J. Clunis Sr. of Elkton, Michigan; a sister, Gail (Bill) Piotter of Bad Axe, Michigan; nephew, Douglas (Kim) Clunis Jr. of Elkton; nieces Kris (Michael) Nugent of Bad Axe, Rachel (Sebastien) Ivanec of Brentwood, Tennessee, Heather Kent (Michael) Cuoco of London, United Kingdom; 4 great nephews, 3 great nieces, cousins and friends.

Wager was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, January 1, 2009, a son, William Clunis; two grandchildren, Michael Clunis and Dillon Antonelli Clunis; two sisters, Alice Lavina Clunis and Eleanor Elaine Clunis.
