Wallace Wilcher

Wallace W. Wilcher, age 81, passed away peacefully at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw on Monday, December 15, 2008 following a period of declining health. Wally was born May 6, 1927 in Detroit, the son of the late Guynn C. & Elizabeth (Jacksey) Wilcher. Following graduation from high school and attending Highland Park Junior College, Wally joined the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. After the war, Wally returned to Detroit where he began a career in auto sales, an occupation he held most of his adult life. He came to Caro approximately twenty-five years ago and was employed at Moore Motors. Wally was a member of the Wahjamega Country Church. He was united in marriage with the former Virginia Henry on October 6, 1990 in Caro. In addition to his wife, Virginia, Wally is survived by five children and their spouses, Mark & Kay Wilcher of Oklahoma, Scott & Susan Wilcher of Pennsylvania, Diane & David Reed of Riverview, Jodi & Greg LaGault of North Carolina, David Wilcher of Florida; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four stepchildren and their spouses, Michael & Sherry Henry of Caro, Nancy & Gene Curtis of Oregon, Patrick & Debby Henry of Florida, Carla & Kenneth Bieber of New York; seventeen step-grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Evenden of Livonia and Lois W. & Robert Moore of Caro and many nieces and nephews.
